Burak Elmas, President of Galatasaray Sports Club, visited Metro Istanbul, one of the affiliates of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), and met with General Manager Özgür Soy.
Galatasaray Sports Club President Burak Elmas, Board Members Ozan Şener and Selim Sefada visited Metro Istanbul Seyrantepe Campus before the new football season. Welcoming Galatasaray Managers, Metro Istanbul General Manager Özgür Soy and Deputy General Manager Hakan Orhun shared information about the improvement works regarding the transportation of the stadium.
“We organize the departure times according to the matches”
Expressing that they are happy to host the managers of Galatasaray Sports Club, General Manager Özgür Soy said, “The most important transportation alternative for the spectators coming to the stadium is the metro. However, Seyrantepe Station has some limitations as we have a facility that was planned only as a warehouse area and later converted into a station. We work with Galatasaray Sports Club Managers to speed up the transportation to the stadium and increase the comfort of the passengers on match days. As a result of our work, we can complete the evacuation of the stadium by getting all the spectators on the subways within 54 minutes after the match. When our work is completed, we will increase our carrying capacity by 33 percent and reduce this time to 40 minutes. As a result of these arrangements, the need for transfer at the Sanayi Mahallesi Station will also be eliminated. President Burak Elmas and esteemed club managers made examinations at our Seyrantepe facilities, discussed the transportation issue in all its dimensions, and started a fruitful cooperation on measures that will increase the comfort and enjoyment of the match day.
Metro Istanbul Deputy General Manager for Operations, Hakan Orhun, made a presentation on their work for the comfortable evacuation of passengers after the match.
Galatasaray President Burak Elmas stated that they welcome the work done and conveyed his thanks to the Metro Istanbul management. “As the new management of Galatasaray Sports Club, we care very much for our fans to have an enjoyable match day experience in our stadium. Fast and comfortable transportation is an indispensable part of the enjoyment of the match. Meeting with Metro Istanbul before the new season was a priority for us. We had a productive meeting with Metro Istanbul Managers and established a cooperation mechanism that will last. The results of this cooperation will reflect positively on our fans," he said.
