Work on the tram line project, which will connect Yahyakaptan and Kuruçeşme, continued during the Eid al-Adha. Asphalting work continues in the project, which Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın has closely followed and instructed to complete quickly.

TEAMS ARE AT WORK ON THE HOLIDAY, ALSO

The teams, who spent the first and second days of the holiday with their families, continued their intensive work on the third and fourth days of the holiday. PMT, bituminous foundation and binder were laid on the new road built before the feast within the scope of Kuruçeşme tram line.

TRANSFORMER AND GENERATOR ARE DISPLACED

The transformer and generator located on the new D-100 route belonging to the General Directorate of Highways were displaced and the obstacle to the construction of the road was removed. After this obstacle is removed, the teams will continue the road work from where they left off.

VEHICLES WILL USE THE NEW ROAD

The old road, which is the route of the tram line, will be closed after the completion of the new road under construction. Vehicle traffic to Kuruçeşme will be provided by the new road built in the western toll booths area. The tram line will pass through the existing road.

THE ROAD IS EXPANDED

The existing Akçaray Tram Line in Izmit District will pass from Plajyolu Station to the opposite side of the D-100 and connect to Kuruçeşme. The Metropolitan Municipality, which is carrying out expansion works on the 900-meter-long road that goes from Izmit west toll booths to Kuruçeşme, continues to work on the new road, wall construction, culvert construction and displacement of electricity and MOBESE lines.

TWO MORE STRIPES WILL BE ADDED

Vehicle traffic will flow over the D-2 in the direction of Kuruçeşme, Derince and Körfez from the new road, which will be expanded and asphalted by adding an extra 100 lanes. Within the scope of the study, the Kuruçeşme junction will be rearranged, and the tram line will pass through the existing vehicle traffic.

OLD PEDESTRIAN BRIDGES TO BE DESTROYED

At the entrance to Kuruçeşme, the old bridges in front of the Gümüşhaneliler Foundation and in front of the İzmit High School will be demolished and two new steel construction pedestrian bridges will be built in their place. Acıbadem pedestrian bridge, which will be manufactured as approximately 59 meters of steel construction, and a new 52 meters long steel construction pedestrian bridge will be built in front of Izmit High School.

TRAM LINE WILL REACH 23,4 KILOMETERS

A Transformer Center will be established to provide the energy of the line. With the completion of the Kuruçeşme tram line, the length of the tram line will reach a double line of 1 thousand 10 meters. The single-line length of the tram will reach 212 kilometers, with a 3-kilometer single-line warehouse area. With Kuruçeşme station, the number of stops will reach 23,4 and with the new construction, 16 transformer centers will serve.
