Addressing the nation after the Cabinet Meeting held at the Presidential Complex, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that they completed the meeting they held before the Eid al-Adha to evaluate both the issues on the agenda and the preparations for the feast.
In his speech, our President said that transportation is one of the areas where Turkey's most important development infrastructure investments are made, and that in the last 19 years, more than 1 trillion 104 billion liras have been invested in this area.
Pointing out that they are working day and night to make Turkey the new logistics superpower with the most comfortable transportation infrastructure in the world, Erdoğan stated that they have achieved a significant part of their goals.
Reminding that they have increased the length of the divided road from 6 kilometers to 100 kilometers, and the length of the highway from 28 kilometers to 200 kilometers, Erdoğan said that they have built 1.714 new tunnels with a length of 3 kilometers, and 532 new bridges and viaducts with a length of 567 kilometers.
“We used different investment models when commissioning transportation projects”
Pointing out that they use different investment models when putting their transportation projects into operation, President Erdoğan noted that some of them are done directly with public resources and some of them are done with the cooperation of the public-private sector.
Expressing that the Ankara-Niğde Highway is one of the investments they offer to the service of the nation with the cooperation of the public-private sector, our President pointed out that the highway, which was commissioned last year in three sections, is an important investment in its field with its domestic and national smart transportation systems.
Stating that the 1,3 million meters of fiber optic network and 500 traffic sensors installed on the highway route ensure that the drivers are prepared for any situation that may arise, Erdoğan said that once this project is put into service, Turkey will provide a 1.230-kilometer-long uninterrupted transportation from Edirne to Şanlıurfa. reminded that it has a highway network.
Good news for our citizens using the Ankara-Niğde smart highway
President Erdoğan said, “I would like to give good news to our citizens who use the Ankara-Niğde smart highway. From now on, our drivers will be able to travel on this highway with a discount of 20 percent with their cars, and 40 percent with minibuses, passenger buses, trucks and trucks. I wish that this discount, which will come into effect at midnight on Friday, will be beneficial for our country and our drivers using our highway. The free passes to be applied on the occasion of the feast on the highways and bridges operated by our General Directorate of Highways will also start at midnight on Friday.” he said.
“We have completed the Bartın-Amasra-Kurucaşile-Cide Road”
Stating that they continue to put the completed transportation investments into service gradually, Erdoğan said, “By completing the road between Bartın-Amasra-Kurucaşile-Cide, each of which has different beauties, we have increased the standard of this really difficult route and reduced its distance from 15 kilometers to 11,8 kilometers. For this, we built 5 double tube tunnels with a length of 3 kilometers, 267 double viaduct with a length of 1 meters, 320 double bridges with a length of 6 meters, and 4 intersections. Hopefully, we will make the official opening of this road as soon as possible.” said.
“Our Çanakkale Bridge will be one of the most important symbols of the 100th anniversary of our Republic”
Stating that the works on the Malkara-Çanakkale Highway, which also includes the Çanakkale 1915 Bridge, are continuing, Erdoğan said, “We are starting the assembly of the steel flooring of the road where the vehicles will pass on the 18 Çanakkale Bridge, which we plan to put into service on March 1915 next year. This bridge, with its 18-meter steel towers marking the 1915 March 318, when the Çanakkale Naval Victory was won, and a middle span of 2 thousand 23 meters between the two towers, will hopefully be one of the most important symbols of the 100th anniversary of our Republic. We continue to contribute to our nation with our tunnel and bridge projects that are under construction all over our country.” made its assessment.
