While ASELSAN broke records with its turnover, it also certifies its success in the global arena. ASELSAN, an organization of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, entered the list of the World's Top 100 Defense Industry Companies (Defense News Top 100) for the first time in 2008, ranking 97th. ASELSAN, which is the leading company of the national defense industry based on R&D and innovation, has increased its national and global successes and maintained its place in the 48th place it came out last year.
“ASELSAN does not stop, cannot stop”
ASELSAN Chairman of the Board and General Manager Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün said that this result is the result of continuous work and progress in line with the vision of growth. Stating that their goals are much higher, Prof. Dr. Görgün continued:
“For ASELSAN, 2020 has been a period in which adversities have been turned into opportunities and our efficient and effective work has been continued uninterruptedly. While the pandemic period was forcing the whole world, it also brought the concept of corporate intelligence to the agenda. He showed us that the two most basic references of intelligence, adaptation and problem-solving skills, should be institutionalized in companies. It will be much more accurate to focus on the gains of the pandemic period in terms of maturing our level of readiness for all kinds of difficulties and changes, re-determining our priorities and acquiring new competencies. From this point of view, I believe that we, as the ASELSAN Family, gave a good test during the pandemic period.
During this period, we said, 'ASELSAN will not stop, it cannot,' and we have not stopped our activities for a single day. ASELSAN continued its export run uninterruptedly even in 2020, when international mobility stopped completely due to the pandemic. The company contributed to the export volume of our country by signing contracts with 2020 new countries in 6.
The solutions we created as a result of the support we gave to R&D carried us to these points. As the locomotive company of the domestic and national defense industry, our turnover increased by 2020% in 24 compared to the previous year and exceeded 16 Billion TL. We increased our purchase rate from domestic suppliers, which was 38% in the recent past, to over 2020% as of 70. We have achieved this transformation not only as ASELSAN, but together with our competent and comprehensive supplier companies.
We felt the support of our state with us always and everywhere. We will continue to work tirelessly to carry ASELSAN, which is the apple of the eye of the Turkish Nation and entrusted to us, much further.
