Wave Surfing Trainings Started in Ordu

In this context, the efforts initiated to popularize surfing in Ordu under the leadership of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality began to bear fruit.

IT IS A MEETING AREA FOR YOUTH

At the Wave Surfing Center, which is under construction in Efirli, wave surfing training is given to trainees from Turkey and abroad under the leadership of Surf Instructor Deniz Toprak. The area, where all activities are carried out, from warm-up exercises to balance training, from skateboarding to surfing, also turns into a place where participants share their knowledge and experience, and where new ideas are produced.

Visiting the Wave Surfing Training Center, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler came together with children and young people who are taking surf lessons here. This is an area with very special waves. Here, we focused on a very distinguished sport such as surfing. Surfing is a sport that can be done in winter when there are necessary clothes. Although the Black Sea is not very sunny, we have waves for 12 months. We used this environment by surfing. Therefore, we included the sea in our lives not only in summer but also in winter. Now here, people from many different cities and abroad receive surfing training. Surfing has added color to Ordu, our young people are doing a brain training in addition to learning to surf. TRAINERS COMING FROM OUTSIDE OF THE PROVINCE ARE AMAZING TO ORDU

Young people coming from outside the province for the surf training started in Ordu admired Ordu. Stating that he came to Ordu from Istanbul to learn surfing, Togan Kılıç from Samsun said, “I am from Samsun, born and raised. When I heard that such a sport was being done right next to us, I immediately came to Ordu and I am learning to surf. Sometimes great waves are formed. I just started and I intend to continue until the end. Thursday has now become my second venue.”

Stating that she is happy to have wave surfing in the Black Sea, Alara Kılıç said, “I am very proud and very happy to have such a sport in the Black Sea. I've been training here for three days. The environment is very nice here, I learned good things in a short time.”
