The Technology-Oriented Industrial Move Program, which set out with the aim of localizing the products in which Turkey has a current account deficit in high-tech areas, bears fruit.

WAT Motor, which is among the enterprises to be supported in the machinery sector, which is the first call of the program announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, produced the first industrial servo motor prototypes.

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank visited WAT Motor, which domestically develops industrial servo motors with high current account deficit.

Giving the good news of mass production before the end of the year, Minister Varank said, "We will not produce a current account deficit abroad by producing precision servo motors in Turkey." said.

IN ÇERKEZKOY OIZ

Minister Varank, in the Kapaklı district of Tekirdağ Çerkezköy He visited WAT Motor factory in OSB. During his visit to Varank, Tekirdağ Governor Aziz Yıldırım, Tekirdağ Deputy Mustafa Yel, AK Party Tekirdağ Provincial Chairman Mestan Özcan, Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University Rector Prof. Dr. Mümin Şahin, Mayor of Kapaklı Mustafa Çetin, Secretary General of Trakya Development Agency Mahmut Şahin and Çerkezköy Eyüp Sözdinler, Chairman of the OSB Board of Directors.

HIGH TECHNOLOGY

Varank, who received information about WAT Motor from company officials, examined the company's studies on white goods and industrial electric motors, and its high-tech works in the fields of defense industry, industrial motion control systems and e-mobility in the fields of electric motors and power electronics.

SERVO MOTOR PRODUCTION

In his statement regarding his visit, Varank pointed out that the company is one of the well-established companies in Turkey in the production of electric motors and said, “WAT Motor manufactures electric, industrial and servo motors. It can produce large, high-capacity motors used in industry, along with motors for small household appliances.” he said.

ALSO DOING R&D

Noting that the demand for electric motors is increasing day by day in the world, Varank said, “At the same time, a great effort to produce more efficient electric motors is currently ongoing. WAT Motor is a company that can produce electric motors but also carries out R&D activities in this field.” used the phrases.

ALL FROM ABROAD

Reminding that WAT Motor received support within the scope of the Move Program for the production of high-capacity precision servo motors and their drivers, which were not produced in Turkey before, all of which were brought from abroad, Varank said, “We saw the first prototypes of those productions here.” said.

IT IS ALSO USED IN THE DEFENSE INDUSTRY

Stating that electric and servo motors are also widely used in the defense industry, Varank said, “WAT Motor has developed and produced servo motors used in stabilization systems, which require high power in the defense industry, as well as the production of servo motors used in sensitive industrial tools.” he said.

VALUE-ADDED PRODUCTION

Stating that the factory exported 20 million dollars last year, Varank said, "It aims to export 30 million dollars with the growth of the market and the launch of new products." said. Noting that they want Turkey to grow with value-added production, Varank said, “Our companies such as WAT Motor have started to launch much more value-added products with both efficient engine production and the use of new technologies in electric motors. Hopefully, we will be more proud of the success of such companies in the coming period.” made its assessment.

WE WILL HAVE A VOICE

Stating that electric motors have started to be used in the transportation sector, Varank said, “High-capacity efficient electric motors are used not only in automobiles, but also in different vehicles. With the capabilities developed by our companies in this field, we will become a country that has a much greater say in the world and takes a much larger share from the world market.” said.

WE IMPORT

Noting that Japan and Germany sell equivalents of the domesticated product to Turkey, Varank said, “The products we import very seriously. But I hope that with the success of the project here, we will be able to start mass production before the end of the year. In this way, we will not create a current account deficit abroad by producing such sensitive servo motors in Turkey.” he said.

WE WILL START SALES THIS YEAR

WAT General Manager Oğuzhan Öztürk pointed out that they received support within the scope of the Move Program to produce controllable servo motors with high added value and said, “We started commercial sales of servo motors in the defense industry. Hopefully this year, we will start the sale of industrial servo motors as well.” said.

WHAT IS THE MOVE PROGRAM?

The Technology-Oriented Industrial Move Program was designed to produce products with high technology level or high foreign trade deficit with domestic capabilities and capabilities. With the program aiming to increase value-added production, the supports given by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and affiliated and related institutions such as TÜBİTAK and KOSGEB are managed from a single window.

PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN ANNOUNCED

The first call of the Move Program was for the machinery sector. 10 projects determined in this context were announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Among these announced projects is the project of Wat Motor.

SECOND CALL MOBILITY

After the machinery sector, the second call was made in the field of mobility. Within the scope of the call, investments in 152 medium-high and high technology products in the field of mobility and 5 innovative technologies under 40 headings will be supported.

APPLICATIONS EXTENDED

Due to the intense interest, the pre-application period for the mobility call has been extended. Sector representatives and industrialists will be able to apply to the program until June 22.

50 BILLION DOLLARS OF LOCALIZATION

In the move program, calls will be made in other sectors such as transportation vehicles, chemistry, pharmacy and electronics. With the program, it is aimed to localize product groups in areas with a current account deficit of approximately 50 billion dollars per year.
