A cooperation protocol was signed between Ankara University and the Turkish Space Agency to carry out studies that will contribute to national development in the field of aviation and space technologies.

Ankara University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar, in his speech at the signing ceremony held at the Rectorate, emphasized that they attach great importance to the cooperation with the Turkish Space Agency as a university. Ünüvar said, “Ankara University is one of the most important universities in Turkey. An educational institution that conducts educational and academic studies in many different fields. The Turkish Space Agency is also our highest level institution that carries out studies on space, which is becoming more and more important with each passing day. The cooperation of two powerful institutions can yield really important results. I say 'it may come out' because the fact that this protocol is not only on paper is a matter of the will of the officials of both institutions. We are close to it. We know that the Turkish Space Agency is also very close and prone to this. Hopefully, with this protocol, we can implement a team of beneficial works for our country and humanity together.”

“There Are Many Fields We Can Collaborate With”

Turkish Space Agency President Serdar Hüseyin Yıldırım also noted that as an institution, they attach great importance to relations with well-established universities. Underlining that there are many fields where Ankara University and the Turkish Space Agency can cooperate, Yıldırım said, “Space is a multidisciplinary field. Not only technical branches, but also social branches have begun to be represented in space. Like law, like medicine, like psychology. Therefore, soon there will be no area that will not cover space, we are aware of this. That's why we want to develop our cooperation with big and well-established institutions such as Ankara University."
