Making statements during his visit to TÜRASAŞ, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said, “We received information from our friends about our national projects, which are among the most important projects in the history of the Republic, which will accelerate the development of rail systems in our country's freight and passenger transportation. Among the investments we have made in every field of transportation as our Ministry, the railway has an important meaning. For this reason, we are very happy that our projects have been completed one by one and that the works have made significant progress. A short time ago, we examined the ongoing construction works in the Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Line in Balıseyh region. In the same way, we examined our work between Konya and Karaman in the past days. And we will put these two lines into operation in the coming days. In the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway Project, as of last week, the total amount of freight transported through this line exceeded 1 million tons.” used the phrases.

Thanks to the railway reform we announced last year, we continue our works to take the big steps we took in the railway even further. It is a matter of pride for us to see that Sakarya has become an important center in its region and in our country again, with our railway investments. The first step to evaluate the importance Sakarya has for our country and the region today, as it was yesterday, was taken with the Presidential Decree dated March 4, 2020, with the gathering of 3 important companies under one roof, where different parts of the rail system vehicles in our country are made. Thus, we have gained a new momentum in the rail system production processes in our country and started a new move in domestic and national production. With the reorganization of the directorates in Sakarya, Eskişehir and Sivas, TÜRASAŞ; With its more than 100 years of experience in the sector and nearly 4 thousand qualified manpower, it has transformed our country into a strong actor in the rail systems sector all over the world. “WE WILL OFFER OUR TRAIN TO THE SERVICE OF OUR NATION THIS YEAR”
Stating that the national electric train will be put into service this year, Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu said, “The national electric train set, which we aim to start mass production in the last quarter of this year, the electric mainline locomotive, the hybrid locomotive, the natural locomotive and the free modern projects, and the national suburban train set, of which prototype production was started this year. TÜRASAŞ is leading our Railway Reform with its projects. In December 2020, within the scope of domestic and national projects, the design and manufacturing of the first prototype set of the national electric train set project was on the rails, which was carried out within the body of TÜRASAŞ Sakarya Regional Directorate. Following the prototype production and factory tests of the national electric train set, which reaches a speed of 160 km per hour, road tests began. After that, navigational safety and comfort tests will be carried out under the control of an accredited institution. Our train will be put into the service of our nation this year. In the national electric high-speed train project, which will reach a speed of 225 km per hour, the design process continues.”

Providing information about the work of TÜRASAŞ Sakarya Regional Directorate, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said, “TÜRASAŞ Sakarya Regional Directorate, which has produced 2 thousand 300 passenger wagons and 38 thousand 490 passenger wagons maintenance, repair, revision and modernization for the Republic of Turkey State Railways so far. While saving our country from external dependency in the field of rail vehicles, it also makes significant contributions to the national economy. As of 2021, orders for 95 sets of national electric trains for 19 vehicles were received and purchasing activities were started within the serial production period. With the production of national trains, TÜRASAŞ Sakarya Regional Directorate also gained the ability to produce aluminum vehicle body. We aim to increase the share of domestic production in the project to 60 percent with the mass production of the national electric train set, which has a local rate of 80 percent in our project.
