Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu went to Kocaeli to hold a series of contacts. Minister Karaismailoğlu, who made important statements by attending the Gebze OSB-Darıca Coast Metro Line TBM Excavation Start Ceremony, noted that the foundation of the first bridge of Kanal Istanbul will be laid on 26 June.
Minister Karaismailoğlu, at the Sazlıdere crossing, Başakşehir; Noting that they will start the production of a tensioned inclined suspension bridge that will provide transportation between Kayaşehir and Bahçeşehir, he spoke as follows:
“The main span of the bridge, which is 440 meters long, will be 210 meters in length with the 860-meter-long side spans on the right and left, while the total length of the bridge will reach 1.618 meters with the approach viaducts. The bridge will serve the traffic as 2×4 lanes. The platform width of the bridge will be 46 meters. Remember, the mentality that opposes Kanal Istanbul today did not want Marmaray or the Eurasia tunnel in the past. Yavuz Sultan also opposed the Selim Bridge. It also made dirty perceptions over Osmangazi Bridge. No matter what anyone says, we are working to make our country a leader with the strength we get from you, and we continue to make exemplary projects.”
