TCDD Collected 25 Kilograms of Waste in 107.746,12 Months with its Zero Waste Project

TCDD, which wants to take a role in the solution of environmental problems, pressed the button for the Zero Waste Project. With the TCDD "Zero Waste" Project, it collected 25 kilograms of waste in 107.746,12 months, saving 975,440 m3 of water and 296.822,53 kWh of energy.

The "Zero Waste" Project, which was initiated under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's wife Emine Erdoğan and continues throughout the country, continues to be supported by institutions and organizations. Working meticulously in this regard, TCDD collected 25 kg of waste in 107.746,12 months, saving 975,440 m3 of water and 296.822,53 kWh of energy. TCDD also prevented 8.287,653 kg of greenhouse gas emissions.

DATA ON RECYCLING AMOUNT AND SAVINGS SAVE

Acting with the understanding of sustainable environment and sustainable development, TCDD; It supported the "Zero Waste" Project in order to prevent wastage, to use resources more efficiently, to leave a clean and livable world to future generations, and to contribute economically by recycling wastes.

Announcing 25-month earnings data, TCDD; It recycled 35 tons of paper-cardboard, 26 tons of plastic, 9 tons of glass, 8 tons of metal, 16 tons of organic waste and 5 tons of vegetable waste oil. According to the data of the institution, the savings are as follows; 592 thousand 23 trees, 66.970, 528 liters of oil, 11,79566 tons of raw materials, 10,793 tons of raw materials, 7 tons of compost, 855 liters of biodiesel.

Stating that they attach great importance to the “Zero Waste” Project, TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun said, “We continue to work as an institution to prevent waste and to use resources more efficiently. This project, initiated by Emine Hanım, the wife of our President, has come to a very good place. As TCDD, we attach importance to this issue and we are working to raise awareness. In today's environmental problems, we need to act with a human-centered approach, not a self-centered approach. We thought about what we can do within the scope of the Zero Waste Project and, as an institution, we took precautions by conducting necessary research. We have achieved good results by realizing our measures. Energy efficiency, good use of resources and the environment are important factors for us. Our work for a more environmentally friendly TCDD will continue. Thanks to our work, we contribute to a cleaner world for our future generations and to our economy. We are working to breathe life into our nature and our country with this project. In the TCDD Headquarters Service Building, it saved 25 m975,440 of water and 3 kWh of energy in 296.822,53 months with zero waste. TCDD also prevented 8.287,653 kg of greenhouse gas emissions. We will try to increase these numbers by becoming more conscious.”
