Samsun District Public Transportation Transfer Center Project Comes to Life

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality's 'District Public Transportation Transfer Center' project, which will facilitate traffic by reducing daily trips from the districts to the city center on a single vehicle, is being implemented. The tender for the project to be built in the Culture Park area was held. It is stated that the construction works will start soon.

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality aims to collect the public transportation vehicles coming from the districts in a single center, while striking the problem of urban traffic with the "Smart City Traffic Safety" project. The relief to be experienced with the implementation of the project will greatly increase the travel between the city center and the districts.

A Tender was made

The Metropolitan Municipality, which attaches great importance to the project prepared to eliminate the problem of district minibus services, made the tender for the 'District Public Transportation Transfer Center', which will be put into service in the area of ​​the Culture Park next to the Atatürk Cultural Center. The transfer center will have 13 drop-off platforms, 3 airport shuttle platforms, 3 ticket offices, a 72-car parking lot and a 12-car taxi stand. The project, whose field work will start soon, will be put into service in 2022.

TO BE ENTERED IN SERVICE IN 2022

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said that they are determined to solve the transportation problem that citizens have to change many vehicles. Stating that they have realized the tender for the center that will gather the transportation problem under a single roof, President Demir said, “We have come to the stage of starting the field studies of this project, which we announced to the public during the election process. We made the tender and the contractor company started its preparations. Hopefully, in 2022, all our compatriots in the districts will be able to come to the city center with a single minibus with the great relief we provide. Reaching Samsun to Samsun is our first priority. Therefore, we facilitate daily travel and passenger traffic with the project. Good luck to our people," he said.
