The Parliamentary Research Commission was established to investigate the causes of the mucilage problem in the Marmara Sea and to determine the measures to be taken.
The Assembly steps in for the solution of the mucilage problem in the Marmara Sea. The proposals submitted separately by the parties were discussed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and upon the agreement of the parties, it was decided to establish a Mucilage Research Commission. The commission will consist of 19 members, will work for three months and will be able to conduct 'on-the-spot' inspections when necessary.
The research proposal submitted by CHP Istanbul Deputy Ali Şeker on 1 June in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on mucilage spreading dangerously in the Marmara Sea was rejected by the votes of the AK Party and MHP deputies. Later, all parties, including the AK Party, submitted separate proposals on the subject. The proposals were discussed in the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly today. The motions of the AK Party, CHP, MHP, IYI Party and HDP were accepted. Thus, it was decided to establish a Mucilage Research Commission.
In a statement on his social media account, Şeker said, "The proposal we made to investigate the mucilage problem in our seas, which was rejected with the AK Party and MHP votes last week, was accepted today with the reactions in the social media and public pressure."
The commission will consist of 19 members and will work for three months. Solution proposals will also be included in the commission report. The report will be discussed at the General Assembly and will be sent to the relevant institutions and organizations to take necessary measures. (Newspaperwall)
