Mayor Soyer landed at 07.00 in the morning on the line, which continued uninterruptedly despite the pandemic and the natural disasters the city has experienced in the last two years. President Soyer, who ran at the junction of two tunnels in Balçova and received information about the works on the line, said: “I am proud of everyone who worked here. They worked nonstop for 24 hours. Neither the pandemic conditions nor the natural disasters have stopped them. They continued to work without a break. After that, there is the construction process of the stations. The works will be completed within a year and a half at the latest and we will start to offer uninterrupted metro service to the people of İzmir.”
The rail system network will increase to 186,5 kilometers
76 percent of the Fahrettin Altay-Narlıdere metro line has been completed. In fact, a total of 13 thousand meters of tunnels were opened. Fahrettin Altay and the first tunnel in the direction of Narlıdere District Governor's Office, excavation works were completed. The 7,2 kilometer Fahrettin Altay-Narlıdere metro line consists of 7 stations. With this line, the Metropolitan Municipality will increase the number of stations in the light rail network to 24 and the length of the rail system to 186,5 kilometers. With the completion of the works, those who take the metro from Bornova EVKA-3 will be able to go directly to the Narlıdere District Governor's Office.
