For the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Les Benjamins Creative Director Bünyamin Aydın designed unique logo patterns for the official sportswear of Turkish athletes who will compete in Tokyo.

The Tokyo 19 Olympic Games, which were planned to be held last summer but postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-2020 global epidemic, will be held from 23 July to 08 August 2021 and the Paralympic Games from 24 August to 05 September.

After nearly two years of work by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the launch of the Team Turkey Collection, prepared for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, was presented with a fashion show choreographed and produced by Uğurhan Akdeniz at Esma Sultan Mansion in Istanbul on 23 June.

For the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Les Benjamins Creative Director Bünyamin Aydın designed unique logo patterns for the official sportswear of Turkish athletes who will compete in Tokyo. Bünyamin Aydın, inspired by his design heritage, created a special monogram to adorn Nike jerseys for men and women.

Les Benjamins Creative Director, Bünyamin Aydın, explains, “I designed a logo that I think would describe Turkey the best” and adds that the mosaic pattern of the monogram consists of four traditional weaving patterns. “Each pattern; It represents the themes of Originality, Unity, Creativity and Diversity. Inspired by our roots, this journey has come to this point by combining with my own design language.”

Emphasizing the importance of the four above-mentioned values, the four patterns emerging from Turkish carpet motifs combine into a single iconic monogram applied to the sportswear collection of men and women athletes, which includes accessories such as shirts, polo, zippered tops, shorts, tracksuits, windbreakers and hats. Bünyamin Aydın finally said, “I thank the Ministry of Youth and Sports, who believed in me from the very beginning until today, and Dr. I would like to thank Nazan Ölçer. I wish success to our athletes at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
