Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç announced that the 15-kilometer bike path project will be implemented this year in order to improve the cycling habits of the people of Kayseri and to provide a safe driving environment for cyclists. Büyükkılıç stated that a 3-kilometer bicycle path will be built in the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan National Garden.

15 KM MODERN CYCLING ROAD

A 15-kilometer bicycle path will be built in order to provide bicycle transportation for the people living in the city and the bicycle users on a safe route. Thanks to the bicycle paths planned to be built on the routes of Erciyes University, Talas Mevlana District, Yenidogan District, Bahçelievler District, it is aimed to reduce both noise and air pollution and motor traffic congestion.

Making a statement on the subject, Mayor Büyükkılıç stated that the bicycle culture has increased in the city and said: “Cycling culture is increasing day by day in our city. We will expand our bicycle path network this year in order to reduce the traffic density in the city center and to create an environmentally friendly transportation network. In order to meet the transportation needs in a safe and healthy way, we plan to carry out our Bicycle Road Project in stages in 2021. We wish this project to be auspicious in advance, and we say to our bicycle users 'don't let a stone touch your pedal'. On the other hand, in order to encourage the use of environmentally friendly and healthy means of transportation, the United Nations (UN) declared 3 June as “World Cycling Day”. I also congratulate the World Cycling Day of all cyclists.”

Büyükkılıç also announced that a total of 1 kilometers of bicycle paths and tracks will take place in the 260 million 3 thousand square meters Recep Tayyip Erdoğan National Garden.

CONTINUES KAYBIS, TURKEY'S FIRST BICYCLE SHARING SYSTEM

Mayor Büyükkılıç, on the other hand, stated that KAYBİS, the bike sharing system implemented by the Metropolitan Municipality, serves the citizens with 51 bike stations, 600 specially designed bikes and a structure suitable for expansion, and qualified personnel with high level of knowledge and skills, Turkey's first bike sharing system. He added that KAYBIS, which is a business, continues to open the door to a healthy life.
