AVIS Turkey Climbing Championship Started in Izmir

Izmir Salados Climbing Race, the first race of AVIS 2021 Turkey Climbing Championship, was organized by Izmir Motorsports Club, whose short name is IMOK, on ​​26-27 June.

In the race, followed by Kemalpaşa Mayor Rıdvan Karakayalı and 4 athletes registered in 31 different categories, 24 athletes were able to reach the finish. In Category 1, Taner Oruç from Bursa started the season with a victory with Citroen Saxo VTS, while Orçun Kuşçu came second with Peugeot 106 GTI and young athlete Berat Berke Yavuz took third place with Citroen Saxo VTS. In Category 2, Ford Fiesta R2 and Burak Title became the winner, Fiat Palio and Süleyman Yanar came second and Sevcan Sağıroğlu, the only female driver of the race, came third with Fiat Palio. In Category 3, experienced name of climbing races, Refik Bozkurt from Ankara was the fastest name with Renault Sport Clio, while İsmet Toktaş finished second with Ford Fiesta R2T and Özkan Kırbacı finished third with VW Polo GTI. In Category 4, host pilot Ayhan Germirli from Izmir won both the first place and the 'fastest exit' award with his Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX with a time of 03:35,54. Returning to the tracks after a short break, Selim Bacıoğlu made the podium in second place in this category with his new vehicle Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX. One of the ambitious names of Category 4, 2019 Turkey Climbing Category 4 Champion Cem Yalın left the race early by leaving the road on the first ascent.

In the local classification, İsmail Cabacı was the first in Category 1, Burak Navruz was the second, Barış Karadağ was the third, and in Category 2 Serdar Kaan Yalçın was the first, Serdar Sarıduman was the second and Süleyman Yanar was the third to share the podium. In Category 3, Hüseyin Yıldırım lifted the trophy for the first place, Özkan Kırbacı took the second place, Muhammed Ali Ülkü took the third place, and in Category 4 Ayhan Germirli took the first place and Hasan Alpay Gülten took the second place.

The second race of the AVIS 2021 Turkey Climbing Championship will be organized by Bursa Automobile Sports Club (BOSSEK) on 17-18 July at the Şahintepe track located in the Gemlik district of Bursa.
