Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu came to Yozgat to hold a series of contacts with Vice President Fuat Oktay. Visiting Sorgun High Speed ​​​​Train Station, Karaismailoğlu stated that the works on the Ankara-Sivas High Speed ​​​​Train Project are about to be completed, and said, “The superstructure and EST construction works are continuing, and the 725-kilometer rail laying has been completed. With the completion of the project, the travel time between Ankara and Sivas will decrease from 12 hours to 4 hours at the first stage and to 2 hours afterward.” said.

Karaismailoğlu said, “New stations are planned to be built in Yozgat, Sorgun, Yıldızeli and Akdağmadeni on the Ankara-Sivas YHT line. Yozgat new YHT Station, the construction of which has started, is aimed to be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2021.” said.

“In 2023, we will increase our railway network to 16 kilometers.”

Pointing out that Turkey is a country that dominates the Iron Silk Road from China to Europe, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “We started the 'Railway Reform' in 2020 by taking these efforts to the next level. In 2023, we will increase the rate of railway investments to 60 percent and our railway network to 16 kilometers. I sincerely believe that we will achieve our goals with this reform, which was initiated to produce vehicles that will operate on the railways and domestic and national technologies for railway modernization, to expand our line capacity, to make service-oriented, smart and value-added transportation.” he said.
