Wudongde Hydroelectric Power Plant started operating at full capacity yesterday, with 12 units. At the same time, the total installed capacity of Wudongde Hydroelectric Power Plant, which is the seventh largest hydroelectric power plant in the world, was determined as 10,2 million kilowatts.
Located on the border of Yunnan and Sichuan provinces and built on the Jinsha River, the power plant is considered one of the key projects in China's "west-east power transmission" program. The power plant, which started to be built in late 2015, started to produce electricity in June last year. The power plant is expected to produce approximately 38,9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually at full capacity.
