Prospective students and parents are experiencing serious anxiety before the upcoming university exam. Özge Alyu, Istanbul Bilgi University Educational Consultant, said, “Don't be afraid to worry.
A certain level of anxiety helps you hold on to life and take action for the exam. When your motivation drops in the exam, imagine that you are a university student.
As the university exam day approaches, the excitement and anxiety levels of the candidates are increasing. Questions such as am I ready enough, how will the exam be, are at the top of the agenda of both candidates and parents. In the last stage of the exam marathon, Istanbul Bilgi University Education Consultant Özge Alyu told the candidates that a certain level of anxiety before the exam is a source of motivation. Alyu said, “Don't be afraid to worry. The key here is the level of anxiety. A certain level of anxiety helps us hold on to life and take action for the exam. You must be the first to believe that you can succeed. Focus on what you can do, not what you lack. Remember your past successes. Use positive sentences such as 'You are successful', 'You did your best', 'The exam will go well'. When your motivation drops, imagine that you are a university student.”
Don't give up on your routine
Explaining that the day before the exam or the day of the exam is important, Alyu listed his advice to the exam candidates as follows: For example, if you're not used to having breakfast, don't try to gorge on the exam day. Not being able to sleep the night you will take the exam the next day does not mean that you will fail the exam. Also, don't add your sleep status to your worries. You can go to the exam with someone you feel comfortable with. Some of you may even want to go to the exam alone or be left at the door of the school, you should have discussed and planned this situation with your family beforehand. The day before the exam, you can be in a place where you feel comfortable, not necessarily outdoors.”
