After the 75th Yıl-Sultandere-OGÜ line, which was put into service a short time ago, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality starts its services on the Kumlubel line on Monday, June 14 at 14.00.
The Metropolitan Municipality, which has made a great investment in urban transportation and extended the tram lines from Emek Mahallesi to the City Hospital, and from there to Sultandere and 75. Yıl Mahallesi, completes its work on the Kumlubel line and puts this line into service. Providing information about the line, Metropolitan Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen stated that this line, which will permanently solve the transportation problems of the residents of many neighborhoods in the region, especially the Kumlubel District, will be operated on the route of Kumlubel-Opera-Bazaar-City Hospital. Büyükerşen said, “We are opening our Kumlubel Line, which we had a delay in completion due to the large increases in exchange rates, especially the pandemic, on June 14 at 14.00. Many residents of Fatih, Zafer, Tunalı, Ömerağa and their surrounding neighborhoods, especially Kumlubel District, will benefit from our tram line. In addition, as we mentioned before, the Kumlubel line plays a key role for us in taking the tram to the northern neighborhoods. For this reason, we are very happy to complete this line and put it into service.”
Expressing that the tram network has increased to 55 kilometers with the opening of the line, Mayor Büyükerşen stated that the Kumlubel tram can be used free of charge until 19 June for citizens who will get on from the new stops.
ESTRAM officials, who gave information about the new line to be opened, stated that the existing City Hospital-Opera line number 13 will continue to operate on the Kumlubel-Opera-City Hospital route, which is line number 14, as of Monday, June 10th.
