Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) and Ukrainian company “Motor Sich” signed a contract for Heavy Class Tarruz Helicopter engine. Within the scope of the agreement with the Ukrainian company “Motor Sich”, 14 engines will be supplied and the flight of the Heavy Class Attack Helicopter will be carried out in 2023.
Work continues for the helicopter to be developed with the Heavy Class Attack Helicopter Project Contract signed between the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ). Another important threshold has been completed for the Heavy Class Attack Helicopter, which will have approximately twice the take-off weight of the current ATAK helicopter.
In the agreement between TAI and Motor Sich, 2023 engines will be supplied for the Heavy Class Attack Helicopter, which will be flown in 14. While a total of 2025 engine deliveries are planned until 14, the first delivery of the engines that will belong to the Heavy Class Attack Helicopter is planned to be made in September 2, as 2022 engines. Making statements on the subject, TUSAŞ General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil said: “As we promised, we have completed another important and critical phase for our Heavy Class Attack helicopter, which will fly in 2023. We launched the project, which we signed in 2019 under the leadership of our President of Defense Industry, with a new contract 2 years later. Hopefully, as TAI, we will make an ambitious entry to 100 in the 2023th year of our Republic. It will be a year in which almost all of our projects will take flight.”
