The construction of the “District Public Transportation Transfer Center” has started, which will enable the citizens living in the districts to come to Samsun with a single vehicle.
The contractor company, which won the tender for the District Public Transportation Transfer Center, which will collect the district minibuses in a single center, started the work machines. The project, which will eliminate the obligation of citizens to change more than one vehicle in order to reach the city on daily trips, will also bring order to urban transportation.
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “Especially our citizens living in rural areas have to change more than one vehicle if they want to come to the city center for a day. In general, they have great difficulties because they do not have special vehicles. We will have eliminated this problem by putting the District Public Transportation Transfer Center project, which we started to invest in, into service next year. Good luck to our people," he said.
Stating that the center, which will serve in the Culture Park area next to the Atatürk Cultural Center, will not be a gathering place for vehicles, President Mustafa Demir said, “In the project, which will be built as a porch with a closed area not exceeding 250 square meters, 13 landing platforms, 3 airport shuttle platforms, 3 ticket offices, and an open parking lot for 72 cars. and a 12-car taxi stand. A maximum of 1 minibuses will be able to stop on 2 line.” he said.
