Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality continues to open new tram lines to facilitate the transportation of citizens to all four points of the city. The Kumlubel line, which connects Fatih, Zafer, Tunalı, Ömerağa Neighborhoods to the city center and the City Hospital, was put into service.
The Metropolitan Municipality, which made a great investment in urban transportation and extended the tram lines from Emek Mahallesi to the City Hospital, and from there to Sultandere and 75. Yıl Mahallesi, completed its work on the Kumlubel line and opened this line to service. The first expedition of the Kumlubel tram, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Büyükerşen, Republican People's Party Eskişehir Deputies Utku Çakırözer and Jale Nur Süllü, Odunpazarı Mayor Kazım Kurt, Tepebaşı Mayor Ahmet Ataç, CHP provincial and district presidents and municipal bureaucrats attended.
The Kumlubel tram line, which will permanently solve the transportation problems of many neighborhoods in the region, especially the Kumlubel District, also plays a key role for the tram lines planned to be built in the neighborhoods in the north of Eskişehir.
Making a statement at the opening of the Kumlubel tram line, Metropolitan Mayor Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Büyükerşen said, “With our Kumlubel line, our tram network has reached 8 kilometers on 55 lines. Of course, the needs of our city, which is shown as an example in many areas in Turkey, are increasing day by day with the development of our city and the increase in its population. In order to respond to these needs, we will continue to invest within our means. Until 19 June, our citizens will be able to benefit from the stops on the new lines free of charge. I wish that our Kumlubel tram line will be beneficial to our citizens," he said.
Stating that the currently operating City Hospital-Opera line, number 13, will continue to operate on the Kumlubel-Opera-City Hospital route with the line number 14 as of Monday, June 10, ESTRAM officials said that citizens will be informed about the frequency and departure times of the line and detailed information as of 14 June.
