During the operation held in Antalya's Kaş district, 274 historical artifacts considered to belong to the Lycian and Roman periods were seized, and 2 suspects were detained.

Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch Directorate (KOM) and Kaş District Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team (JASAT) teams collected historical artifacts from ancient cities in Turkey and the market by foreign nationals IES and HDS residing in Andifli Neighborhood. He acted upon the knowledge that they would take him abroad by land.

In the search made in the suspects' houses and vehicles, 206 various stone historical artifacts, 3 paintings, 1 marble statue, 2 marble pendants, 1 earring, 2 metal objects, 10 glass artifacts, 7 fossils, 10 bones, which are considered to belong to the Lycian and Roman period. 2 historical artifacts were found, including fragments, 30 animal horns and 274 natural stones.

The suspects were released after their statements were taken.

It has been reported that the seized historical artifacts will be handed over to the Demre Museum Directorate for examination.
