Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO General Directorate made a statement about the Yenimahalle-Şentepe Cable Car services, which were stopped on March 21, 2020.
In the statement made by EGO; “The decisions taken within the scope of Covid-19 measures in our public transportation services carried out by our EGO General Directorate in order to control the spreading rate of the coronavirus pandemic are taken and implemented in consultation with the Governor's Office in line with the decisions of the Ankara Provincial General Hygiene Board.
In the ropeway facility, each cabin is 4 square meters and has 10 people (two rows of five people each), which creates a risk for our citizens using public transportation during the pandemic process. In addition, disinfection cannot be performed between flights, since each time is completed in 20 minutes and continues uninterruptedly.
In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus among our citizens traveling on the ropeway and to protect public health, the Yenimahalle-Şentepe Cable Car Line has been temporarily suspended until the end of the epidemic as of March 21, 2020, in consultation with the relevant institutions.
