Pointing out that the 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, which we had to celebrate from homes for the last two years due to the coronavirus epidemic, is a very important day that changed our history, Yelkenbiçer stated that independent and free youth will play a major role in the construction of a sustainable future. It should be our priority to ensure that we can become a democratic, secular generation, loyal to the founding values of the Republic, criticizing, free of thought and conscience.
May 19, 1919 is one of the most important turning points in the history of the Turkish Republic. May 19, presented to the youth as the “Youth and Sports Day”, is also meaningful in terms of drawing attention to the young generation of our Ata. In the National Struggle, Atatürk drew attention to the fact that the future of the Turkish nation is in youth and with young ideas. “A clean generation grows from the bosom of the nation. I will leave this work to him and I will not leave my eyes behind ”is a proof of how much he trusts young people.
Seeing that the future has young ideas, it is also very meaningful and valuable that the Great Leader Atatürk said that the new generation's building the future within the scope of science and culture will glorify the Turkish nation.
