Karaismailoğlu, emphasizing that the number of ships passing through Istanbul is 25 thousand, “We are in the very center of Eurasia. There was an accident in the Suez Canal recently, the channel was closed. It costs 9 billion dollars a day. Logistics corridors are increasing. The rate of shipping by sea is increasing every year. The number of ships that should pass safely in Istanbul today is 25 thousand; But we, together with our friends, are trying to pass 43 thousand ships safely. This will increase over the years and will not be enough in the future, ”he said.

'TURKEY WILL BE THE TOP OF LOGISTICS'

Noting that 2050 thousand ships are expected to pass in 78, Karaismailoğlu said, “With the Kanal Istanbul project, Turkey will become the logistics base. We will have started our project as of June. We will seriously need Kanal Istanbul after 10 years. The waiting times of the ships will be longer, and considering the logistics costs of their waiting costs, it will be more advantageous to pass through Kanal Istanbul. We are planning to complete it in 5 years. Sazlıdere Dam meets 2,9% of Istanbul's water needs. More water needs will be created with the dams built. "There is no forest area on the route."
