4 DISTRICTS TO BE COMBINED WITH BICYCLE ROADS

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality will create a Bicycle Paths Design Handbook within the scope of the project "Creating Bicycle Roads Design Guide and Preparing Bicycle Road Projects", which is currently underway. The use of bicycles in urban transportation will be encouraged by integrating Derince City Center and Izmit, Kartepe and Başiskele districts with safe bicycle paths. The route, which will start from Derince Training and Research Hospital, will be integrated into Sekapark from this point by going to the "Healthy Life Park", where the project work is ongoing in the old military area to the south of the hospital, and accessing Derince city center and then the "Derince Millet Garden", which is under construction.

BICYCLES WILL HAVE A VOICE IN TRAFFIC

Within the scope of Izmit City Center Walkway Project, the route study that will encourage transportation by bicycle to the pedestrianized area will continue from this point to the Yuvacık turn. In the second part of the project, the route will be connected to Salim Dervişoğlu Street by following Hayrettin Uzun Street, where the heavily visited Outlet Center and 41Burda Shopping Centers intersect. For bicycle users, every detail has been meticulously handled. In this context, the safety of cyclists and pedestrians is considered among the main criteria in the design. With road regulations, cyclists and pedestrians will have more say in the city.
