A new direct Sino-European freight train line has been put into service, connecting Liuzhou city of Guangxi Autonomous Region of Zhuang in southern China to Moscow of the Russian Federation. The first freight train to operate on this route departed from Liuzhou this week in the direction of Moscow.
The train is expected to reach Moscow within 11 days, traveling 20 thousand kilometers under normal conditions. Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd., located in Liuzhou. Luo Guobing, Vice President of the machine manufacturer company named Luo Guobing, said that this type of transport would shorten the transportation time between the same two points by almost two weeks.
The new railway line in question is the first direct China-Europe shipping link between Guangxi and Europe. According to the data of China Railway Nanning Group railway operator, this freight train will make reciprocal voyages on the same line once or twice a month. Data released by the Chinese State Development and Reform Commission during the week show that 38 freight trains have shipped 3,4 million containers of goods between China and Europe so far.
