The second success of the season has arrived
Completing a tough race in Valencia, the previous stage of the championship, António Félix da Costa scored the victory in Monaco and gave DS TECHEETAH the second success of the season. Starting from the beginning to the end, da Costa started the exciting struggle with advantage, and then entered a fierce leadership struggle with Frijns and Evans. The Portuguese pilot, who took the lead again with his attack in the last round, was victorious. After the victory, the pilot, who received his award from the hands of Prince Albert II of Monaco, who took a few laps with the DS 9 E-TENSE 4 × 4 360 at the beginning of the day, said, “We saw heated struggles in this race. When this happens, I love racing! I don't think there is another series where leadership has changed that much. On my behalf, I put everything out in the last round and got it back ” DS TECHEETAH's French driver Jean-Éric Vergne, which is in the 2th place in the drivers' ranking, said, “Today we proved that the team can perform at the highest level. Unfortunately I went astray when trying to enable my second 'attack mode'. Afterwards I lost a few positions, but I was able to struggle and finish the race in a very close position to the podium. Congratulations to Antonio on his victory and I say keep going in Puebla, Mexico! ”
Thanks to the DS Automobiles team!
Stating that the competition in Monaco is always special, DS Performance Director Thomas Chevaucher said; “Starting from pole position in Monaco is the best way to demonstrate the performance of the vehicle, driver and crew! After a few difficult moments, I am proud of the outstanding response of the team. We are still in the rankings in both championships and we are confident in our strength and the features of our DS E-TENSE FE21 ”. Expressing his satisfaction with the results achieved, DS TECHEETAH Team Manager Mark Preston said, “Our team won this success for the first time in 2019 with Jean-Éric Vergne and now with António. Vergne was extremely successful, finishing 4th and passing the lap fastest. We got important points for both him and the team. "On our way to Monaco, we needed a victory to revive again, and this task is accomplished," he said. Adding that this victory has a very special meaning, Preston said, “This year there is no race in Paris. Therefore, we can say that this is our home, albeit partially. It was also great to see Béatrice Foucher, Managing Director of DS Automobiles, on the podium holding the team's trophy. "I want to thank him for the tremendous support we have received from the entire DS team," he said.
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will take place at the Autodromo Miguel E. Abed circuit in Puebla, Mexico for the first time in its history after the race in Monaco. DS TECHEETAH pilots aim to continue their success with the race to be held on June 19 and 20.
