Following the receipt of price offers with the last tender held on 9 April 2021, contracts were signed with the winning companies.

The signing ceremony held in the Metropolitan Municipality Conference Hall; Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş, Mercedes Benz-Türk A.Ş Chief Executive Officer Süer İsmail Sülün, Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi A.Ş. SLOW: "OUR PRIORITY IS HUMAN"

Yavaş, who started his speech by saying “In line with our principles, we are passing one more step towards serving the public” regarding the bus purchase process before the signing ceremony, said:

“When we took office, we encountered a crooked picture. While the population of Ankara has increased by 2013 percent since 12, the number of active vehicles within the General Directorate of EGO has decreased by 21 percent. If the resources were used in favor of public transportation, both the transportation problems of our fellow countrymen would decrease and our bus fleet would be expanded and renewed. We always say and we will continue to say: Our priority is human… How can we make him peaceful, his life easier, how do we increase his well-being, how do we protect his health, how do we protect nature while serving and how do we serve without discrimination? we think. "

THE NUMBER OF BUSES TO BE TAKEN IS 301

Providing information about the buses to be delivered and explaining that there is an opportunity to purchase an additional 19 new buses during the tender process, Mayor Yavaş said:

“When the process is completed, we will add 168 buses, 273 of which are articulated, and 28 diesel buses, which are powered by natural gas, to our public transportation fleet. In the first place, we announced that we would buy a total of 282 buses. As a result of all these transparency practices, I would like to give the following good news to the people of Ankara. In line with our loan amount, the number of new buses to be purchased increased by 19 to 301. In addition to these, when we calculate 3 electric-powered buses, 51 midibuses and 22 buses that our BELKA company will convert from diesel to electric with its own means, 377 vehicles will be available to the people of Ankara. After the manufacturing and delivery processes that will take place between about 6 months and 1 year, our Ankara will have modern buses that are suitable for the age. "

COLOR AND DESIGN WILL BE DETERMINED BY CITIZENS

Stating that the exterior designs of the new buses will be determined by the votes of the Ankara residents in accordance with the participation principle, Mayor Yavaş said, “We will determine the final version of the exterior dressing designs together with our fellow citizens. The designs will be opened to the survey and we, as Ankara residents, will decide together on the colors and designs of our buses ”, he said.

ALKAŞ: "WE WILL CONTINUE WORKING TO INCREASE OUR SERVICE QUALITY"

EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş, who said, "We have made versatile research and project studies in order to change the fate of a city where buses have not been bought for many years, taking into account our existing possibilities," made the following evaluations at the signing ceremony:

“Eventually we started negotiations with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). In a very short time, we decided to purchase 90 (282 CNG, 254 diesel) buses, 28% of which are natural gas (CNG), and to build 2 Natural Gas (CNG) Filling Stations. We requested a loan from the EBRD for 57 million Euros of external financing. It has been agreed with a 2-year term, with a 10-year grace period. It is possible to say that it is a very suitable loan in terms of maturity, rate and limit received in the international market. It was not possible to obtain a loan from a domestic bank with these terms and rates. Another reason we chose this loan was that it was possible to use grants for some projects. Some of these grants have actually been used, and the rest will be used in the process. We are working to increase our service quality, and we will continue to work with all our strength from now on. "

"WE WANT TO DELIVER THE VEHICLES AS SHORT TIME"

Wishing the contract to be beneficial to the people of Ankara, Mercedes Benz-Türk A.Ş. Chief Executive Officer Süer İsmail Sülün said, “Our duty starts from today. I hope we will deliver these buses in a much shorter time than the dates you show. Saying “Thank you to all those who contributed”, Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi A.Ş. General Manager Serdar Görgöç said, “We are closely following the struggle of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality to provide better service. We are very happy to have such a contribution as industrialists. We want to see our vehicles to be built as soon as possible and put into the service of the people of Ankara as our president said, ”he said.

Following the speeches, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş, Mercedes Benz-Türk A.Ş Chief Executive Officer Süer İsmail Sülün and Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi A.Ş. General Manager Serdar Görgöç signed the contract to bring Başkent to its new buses.

TOTAL 377 BUSES WILL BE EARNED TO ANKARA
