Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğluattended the “Local Administration and Business World” meeting organized by the Malatya Business People Association (MİAD) on the video platform. In this meeting, İmamoğlu gave information about the metro constructions in Istanbul, maritime transportation and the financing of these projects. İmamoğlu stated that they issued 550 million dollars of Eurobonds for the metro constructions in Istanbul and that they found a 930 million Euro financing. IMM President noted that they negotiated with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBDR) for 450 million euros for the İncirli-Sefaköy-Beylikdüzü Line in the first place.
According to Vahap Munyar from Dünya newspaper, İmamoğlu stated that the total length of 10 different metro lines, which are still under construction, is 103.3 kilometers. He expressed the status of the lines in question as follows:
“We opened the Mahmutbey-Mecidiyeköy Metro Line. We opened the Cibali-Alibeyköy section of the Eminönü-Alibeyköy Line. A funicular will open from Rumeli Hisarüstü to Aşiyan. We reached 70 percent in Ataköy-İkitelli Line. We will open the 3-station section this year. "
Ekrem İmamoğlu Expressing that the 5-kilometer metro line will be brought to Istanbul in 100 years, he said, “In the past 25 years, an annual average of 5 kilometers of metro line has been built. In the 2019-2024 period, we are going a little over 20 kilometers per year.” said.
"We exported 550 million dollars of eurobonds"
Regarding the financing of these metro projects, İmamoğlu used the following statements: “We have issued a Eurobond of 550 million dollars. This was a very prestigious bond issue process. We separated our 4 lines and opened this request. With this opportunity, we have accelerated the process. During this period, we provided separate financing of 372 million Euros from foreign banks for the metro. We transferred around 50 million Euros of equity to the subways. During our period, we have provided 930 million Euros of financing for the subways. "
We are meeting with EBDR
Ekrem İmamoğlu Expressing that they have also negotiated with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBDR) for the financing of the İncirli-Sefaköy-Beylikdüzü Line, “We are currently negotiating with the EBRD for the financing of the İncirli-Sefaköy-Beylikdüzü Line. This 25.5-kilometer line concerns a population of 3.5 million.”
Stating that they expect the line to serve 500 thousand passengers, İmamoğlu continued his speech as follows:
“The total cost of this line is calculated as 650-700 million Euros. In the first place, we are negotiating with the EBRD for a financing of around 450 million Euros. The EBRD welcomes all financing. ”
Referring to a new metro project, IMM President İmamoğlu said, “Actually, we also have a preparation for the“ Hızray ”project. From Sabiha Gökçen Airport HalkalıIt will be an 12-kilometer line with 85 stops extending to Esenyurt and Beylikdüzü. The journey will take 56-57 minutes. " He stated that they anticipate that this project will serve nearly 1 million passengers per day if it is implemented. Stating that this project is supported by many reputable organizations, İmamoğlu said, "This project attracts a lot of attention and support from many reputable institutions of the world, domestic and foreign organizations producing subways.
Regarding the rest of the metro lines, he continued as follows: “We took over the Dudullu-Bostancı line by just over 55 percent. It reached 73 percent. It is currently working very actively. We took over the Eminönü-Alibeyköy Line around 50 percent. We finished 90 percent. We do the remaining 10 percent. Kabataş-Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey Metro Line is also very valuable to us. We opened the Mahmutbey-Mecidiyeköy section. Kabataş and in the section passing through Beşiktaş, archaeological excavations continue. We had taken over the Ümraniye-Ataşehir-Göztepe Line at almost 0 percent. Currently 30 percent complete. We took over Sancaktepe-Sultanbeyli at the level of 3-5 percent, this line reached 25 percent. We started the Kaynarca-Pendik Line, we reached 6-7 percent. Kirazli-Halkalı We laid the foundation of the Line in April. We provided financing for the Mahmutbey-Bahçeşehir-Esenyurt Line. "Istanbul's sea transportation is less than 3 percent"

Stating that they are working to increase the share of sea transportation again, İmamoğlu continued his speech as follows:
“In order to increase the share of maritime transportation, people must first have access to sea transportation points. This can be done by bringing public transport to the coasts. For example, Dudullu-Bostancı Line, Ataköy-İkitelli Line will have such a function. "
Referring to the Rumeli Hisarüstü-Aşiyan Funicular, IMM President İmamoğlu said, "The funicular that will land in Aşiyan will be among the connection points to the sea lines".
Maslak-İstinye funicular is coming
IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, also talked about the preparation of a new funicular in his meeting with MİAD: “We have finished the project of the funicular we planned between ITU Maslak and Istinye.
