Konya Metropolitan Municipality has implemented another application that will set an example for Turkey and placed two-storey new generation bicycle parks in vehicle parking lots and at different points.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that Konya is the first city that comes to mind when it comes to cycling in Turkey with a 550-kilometer bicycle, and stated that they have implemented many applications to encourage the use of bicycles and to ease the traffic by increasing the share of bicycles in urban transportation.
Stating that they act with the mission of being a pioneer in the field of cycling in Turkey, President Altay stated that they recently increased the number of safe bicycle parks and said: “The two-storey, sliding and space-saving bicycles produced in our city for the multi-storey car parks in the city center We assembled the parks. We plan to expand the parks starting from the points where bicycle parking is intense and to increase the parking capacities in the multi-storey car parks according to the demand. All citizens will be able to use the new type of bicycle parks free of charge. "
President Altay pointed out that increasing use of bicycles means protecting the environment and health, contributing to the economy and reducing traffic congestion, adding that they will continue to make exemplary practices as Konya in supporting the bicycle, which is one of the most important elements of sustainable transportation.

CONSULTING MEETING WITH NGOs REPRESENTING BICYCLE
On the other hand, Konya Metropolitan Municipality met with non-governmental organizations operating in the field of bicycle in the city at a consultation meeting. In the meeting hosted by the Metropolitan Municipality Department of Transportation; Opinions were exchanged regarding the dissemination of cycling activities to the general public, increasing cooperation and dialogue and the studies to be carried out.
