It is of great importance for us to contribute to the development of Istanbul, to further our partnership and to develop projects together. We intend to continue these. That is why we are very excited to be signing this memorandum of understanding with you, ”he said.

We are making big moves on renewal in Istanbul. We have to manage this well. We need to strengthen the building stock of the city very much. We need to protect historical assets. Thousands of years, we have been the capital of 3 empires, we have an enormous cultural asset and we have the obligation to protect it and pass it on to future generations. As the IMM President, I see myself as the current manager of this great and sacred trust and act with this concept. Therefore, we are fighting against this threat in terms of both protecting this heritage from the past and protecting the lives of today's inhabitants, ”he said.

"TRANSPARENCY, THE MOST PRECIOUS INDICATOR OF OUR DEMOCRATITY"

Pointing out that another threat issue for Istanbul is Kanal Istanbul, İmamoğlu said, “We are fighting Kanal Istanbul, the project of the central government, which threatens both vital and environmental, as well as its future, in terms of water policies, in every issue. We are against this in the light of all scientific data. I hope we will prevent this from happening. So far, I see that our informing the society has been effective in establishing a stable process. Istanbul is now governed by a municipality where it receives transparent information every day. This transparency is one of the most valuable indicators of our democracy ”.
