The scope of the Orange Circle certificate program given by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to food and beverage and accommodation businesses that fulfill the necessary criteria is being expanded. 19 buffets operated by private companies on İZDENİZ ships were awarded the Orange Circle certificate. Mayor Soyer said, “With the Orange Circle, we experience the peace of adapting our sea voyages to the hygienic conditions required by the pandemic in Izmir. "We are doing everything we can to make Izmir a safe city," he said.
Kiosks operated by private companies on İZDENİZ ships were also subjected to the Orange Circle inspections. After three days of inspections under the coordination of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Foreign Relations and Tourism, the kiosks on the İZDENİZ ships were awarded the Orange Circle certificate.
Number of applications exceeded 500
The total number of applications for the Orange Circle certificate, which was initiated by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with all tourism stakeholders in Izmir to make the city a hygienic and reliable tourism destination, increased to 501. To date, 389 businesses have received Orange Circle certification, while 84 businesses have not been able to obtain a certificate because they failed to meet the criteria.

Businesses with a minimum score of 100 out of 75 in the catering facilities category and a minimum of 200 points out of 150 in the accommodation category are eligible for the Orange Circle. Businesses wishing to obtain an Orange Circle certificate must submit their requests to Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and district municipalities by hand or online.
