The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey, General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), announced the airline plane, passenger and freight statistics for April 2021.
Accordingly, the number of passengers who chose the airline in April exceeded 6 million. In the four-month period covering January-April, approximately 24 million passengers chose the airline.
Passengers met with the comfort of the airline at our environmentally and passenger-friendly airports, where all necessary measures were taken for the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.
In April, when the number of aircraft landing and taking off at our airports reached 48.331 for domestic flights and 24.965 for international flights, a total of 90.364 aircraft traffic was realized with overpasses.
This month, Turkey serving domestic airports in overall traffic of 3.724.716 passengers, international passenger traffic was 2.457.937. In this month, a total of 6.187.068 passengers were served, including direct transit passengers.
Airport freight (cargo, mail and baggage) traffic; In April, it was 40.625 tons on domestic lines, 192.184 tons on international lines, and 232.809 tons in total.
2.049.365 PASSENGERS WERE SERVED AT ISTANBUL AIRPORT IN APRIL
Aircraft traffic that landed and took off at Istanbul Airport in April reached 4.644 in total, 13.395 in domestic flights and 18.039 in international flights.
This airport served a total of 530.286 passengers, 1.519.079 on domestic flights and 2.049.365 on international flights in April.
In April, there was 3.205 aircraft traffic at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, where general aviation activities and cargo transportation continue.
Thus, a total of 21.244 aircraft traffic was realized at these two airports.
APPROXIMATELY 24 MILLION PASSENGERS TRAVELED BY AIR IN FOUR MONTHS
According to the four-month (January-April) realizations; Aircraft traffic landing and taking off at airports was 185.156 on domestic lines and 84.201 on international flights. Thus, a total of 385.040 aircraft traffic was realized, including overpasses.
Domestic passenger traffic in airports across Turkey of 15.374.956 of the 8.474.302 international passengers traffic in this period were given a total of 23.864.835 passengers with direct transit passengers.
During the period in question, the freight (cargo, post and baggage) traffic of the airports; 159.490 tons in domestic lines and 673.752 tons in international lines.
64.466 aircraft and 7.591.523 passenger traffic were realized at Istanbul Airport in a period of four months. There was 12.285 plane traffic at Istanbul Ataturk Airport. Thus, a total of 76.751 aircraft traffic was realized at these two airports in the same period.
