For the Formula 11TM Turkish Grand Prix 13, which is planned to be held between 1 and 2021 June at Intercity Istanbul Park, under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, a search for a different date in the 2021 race calendar was started due to the travel restrictions decision taken by the British Government.

Following the new travel restrictions announced by the British Government, Formula1 TM management had to publish an update for the 2021 calendar. There are plans for the Turkish Grand Prix 2021 to take place on another date during the year instead of June 11-13.

The President and CEO of Formula 1TM, Stefano Domenicali, thanked the Turkish authorities, especially the organizer of the race, Intercity Istanbul Park, and stated that they will continue to work closely in the future. In the statement made by Formula1 TM, Intercity Istanbul Park's interest in taking place in Turkey's 2021 calendar by utilizing potential opportunities later in the season was also emphasized.

"We are looking forward to the competition in Turkey"

Stating his views in Formula 1TM's statement, Formula 1TM President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said, “We are all looking forward to racing in Turkey, but we will not be able to attend Intercity Istanbul Park in June due to the travel restrictions imposed. We would like to thank the management of Intercity Istanbul Park and all officials in Turkey for their efforts in the process, who made great efforts to hold the race in Turkey. We have brought the race forward in France, there will be two races in Austria. Our partners in France and Austria were quick to implement this solution. We have carried out good work with all our business partners since the beginning of the year. We will continue to work closely with Intercity Istanbul Park management to include Turkey in the 2021 calendar. " said.

"We are always ready to organize a better race than last year"

Vural Ak, Chairman of the Board of Intercity, said: “As Intercity Istanbul Park, organizing the best race of the past year has greatly increased the motivation of the Formula 1TM management to bring the races to Turkey this year. During this period, we worked in great harmony with the CEO of Formula 1TM, Stefano Domenicali, and we formed a good friendship with him. We would also like to thank him for his work on organizing the races in Turkey. At this point, as a result of the travel restrictions decision taken by the British Government, the race in Turkey, which will take place on June 11-13, has become impossible due to technical reasons. As Intercity Istanbul Park, we continue to work on making the race on a suitable date in the coming months. We are always ready to organize a better race than last year. As Intercity Istanbul Park, we will continue our efforts to bring this giant organization back to Turkey both in the 2021 season and in the coming years. Formula 1TM management is also eager for the race to take place here. We hope that this year we will repeat this pride we made to Turkey last year. " said.
