Izmit Bay, which is covered with white and brown layers due to the sea saliva in the Marmara Sea, returns to its former state after the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality cleaning works. So far, 42 tons of sea saliva has been collected in 110 days during the cleaning works in the Gulf of Izmit.

SURVEILLANCE WITH SEA PLANE

Sea saliva, which even stopped the fishing of fishermen in the Marmara Sea, started to be seen in the Gulf of Izmit about one and a half months ago. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality started to fight against the sea saliva, which was seen to spread increasingly and the area was expanding on the shores of Izmit Bay. Within the scope of the study carried out by the Department of Marine and Coastal Services of the Environmental Protection and Control Department, the regions where sea saliva is effective with the sea inspection plane were determined.

MARINE SWEEPERS AND AMPHIBIC VEHICLES

With the sea control plane, the regions where sea saliva is effective were determined, and the sea broom and amphibious vehicles were directed to the determined points. Sea saliva was collected with broom and amphibious vehicles. The adhesive material, which was taken from the sea and filled in sacks, was directed to İZAYDAŞ for disposal.

42 TONS OF SEA CHAIR COLLECTED IN 110 DAYS

A total of 42 tons of sea saliva was collected in 100 days with skimmers and amphibious vehicles within the scope of the work carried out by the Directorate of Marine and Coastal Services of the Environmental Protection and Control Department. By Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, struggle efforts will be continued where necessary.
