Turkish engineers fully with local and national facility designed by Turkey's first Medium Range Missile Engine TEI-TJ300, broke the world record. The turbojet engine, developed within the scope of TÜBİTAK Technology and Innovation Support Programs Directorate (TEYDEB) Project, reached 240 N thrust force with a diameter of 1342 mm. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank shared the record-breaking test video of the TEI-TJ300 engine on his social media account.
Turkey, on the one hand while on the other hand, express or implied embargo in combat by using its own resources and trained manpower is developing local and national solutions. One of these studies conducted, which is Turkey's first Medium Range Missile Engine TEI-TJ300.
RECORD IMPACT LEVEL
In 2017, TÜBİTAK, TUSAŞ Motor Sanayii A.Ş. (TEI) and Roketsan, the TEI-TJ300 turbojet engine project, which started to be developed, yielded results far beyond the targeted performance. The TEI-TJ230 engine broke a world record in this class by reaching a thrust force of 250 N with a diameter of 250 mm, while the best of other competitor engines in the 1250-300 mm class produced a maximum thrust of 240 N with a diameter of 1342 mm.
VARANK RUN THE PROTOTYPE
The first prototype operation ceremony of the TEI-TJ300 Turbojet engine, which was designed completely locally and nationally by Turkish engineers, was held in June 2020 with the participation of Minister Varank. Varank has now shared the record that TEI-TJ300 broke on his social media account. The sharing also included the video of the record-breaking test of TEI-TJ300.
DESIGNED AS NATIONAL
TEI-TJ300 Air Breathing Jet Engine Project started with the protocol signed between TEI and Roketsan with the support of TÜBİTAK in September 2017. The first prototype test of the turbojet engine, which was completely nationally designed, developed and manufactured, was successfully carried out in 2020.
CAN WORK AT HIGH SPEEDS
The TEI-TJ240, the first engine in the world that can produce this propulsion power with a diameter of 300 mm in order to be adapted to missile systems, can operate at high speeds of up to 5000 percent of the sound speed at an altitude of 90 ft.
STARTING WITH THE WIND EFFECT
TEI-TJ300 engine has the ability to start with wind effect without the need for any starter system (starter motor). This feature enables the platform to be applied to both air, naval and land defense systems.
After the completion of the development and qualification tests of the TEI-TJ300 turbojet engine, the mass production process will begin.
