The Expropriation Decision of the Historical Bazaar and Khans Area was Published in the Official Gazette

The urgent expropriation decision signed by President Erdoğan for the Historic Bazaar and Khans Area was published in the Official Gazette.

In Bursa Metropolitan Municipality's Historical Bazaar and Hanlar District Çarşıbaşı Urban Design project, which will mark the future of the city, a 'urgent expropriation' decision was taken to make expropriations quickly. While the decision signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is published in the Official Gazette, the Metropolitan Municipality immediately initiates the process of determination cases regarding the areas covered by expropriation.

A significant progress has been made in the historical project that will restore the historical splendor of the Historical Bazaar and Khans Area, which started to be formed in the 14th century in Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, and completed its development with the formation of inns, covered bazaars and bazaars in the 16th century. In the project of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which is also supported by the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning, the Kızılay, İşkur, Central Bank buildings and the building behind the Red Crescent building, which was demolished with 40 shops surrounding the tomb belonging to the 15th Ottoman sheikhulislam known as Bursalı Esiri Mehmet Efendi, The demolition of one building was complete. Within the scope of the project, the expropriation of 5 square meters of the area to be expropriated from a total of 969 thousand 1016 square meters was completed. While an agreement was reached with 500 of nearly 101 beneficiaries on the project area, negotiations were continuing with the remaining 400 beneficiaries. The Metropolitan Municipality, which completed the demolition processes in the 21 thousand 5 square meters of the area requiring destruction of a total of 100 thousand square meters, applied to the 'urgent expropriation' process in order to accelerate the process in the remaining area of ​​approximately 16 thousand square meters.

In the decision published in the Official Gazette; Within the scope of the project works with the theme 'Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage and Transferring to Future Generations', which will be carried out in order to unearth the inns in the area known as the Khans Area of ​​the immovable properties located within the boundaries of Bursa Province Osmangazi District Şehreküstü District and whose island and parcel numbers are indicated in the attached list. It was stated that the urgent expropriation was decided by the Metropolitan Municipality in accordance with Article 2942 of the Expropriation Law No. 27 ”.

The Metropolitan Municipality Expropriation Branch Office, which has been working hard for the expropriation processes of the Historical Bazaar and Inns Region Çarşıbaşı Urban Design project, accelerates the process in order not to waste time after the urgent expropriation decision. According to Article 2942 of the Expropriation Law No. 27 through the Legal Consultancy, determination cases will be filed and the demolition process will begin again with the evacuation procedures.
