Aiming to revive the historical axis between Konak and Kadifekale and protect Kemeraltı, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality turned Azizler Street in this area into a modern park. The street has been given an appearance that adds value to the area with its seating units and landscaping.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, trying to bring a new breath to the historical bazaar and its surroundings with the restoration projects it carried out in Kemeraltı, completed the arrangement works in 920 Street, known as Azizler Street, after Havra Street. The 920 square meter part of the street at the intersection of 257 Street and Eşrefpaşa Street was arranged as a park in harmony with the historical texture.

Access to Kemeraltı made easy

Azizler Street, which provides a strong connection to Havra Street and Kemeraltı Bazaar from the periphery of the ancient Smyrna Agora and through the Ikiçeşmelik Street, has become an area where the city dwellers will have a pleasant time with its green texture. Within the scope of the arrangement, while pedestrian passage was provided from Eşrefpaşa Street to Kemeraltı Bazaar, the effect of 920 Street increased in access to the Havralar District, one of the most vibrant parts of Kemeraltı. In order to preserve the vitality of the region, the places with high elevation differences were staged and used as resting and transition areas, and the existing retaining wall was removed.

The Parks and Gardens Department also worked on trees and planting in the area. Green texture was created on Azizler Street by planting 5 ornamental apples, 2 rose marshmallows, 1 plane tree, 138 daisies from the bush group, and ivy with pitos bushes.
