N Kolay 16th Istanbul Half Marathon organized by IMM will be run on Sunday, April 4. The race, in which star athletes will take the stage, will be the scene of the competition of record holder athletes.
Organized by SPOR ISTANBUL, an affiliate of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), N Kolay Istanbul Half Marathon will start on Sunday, April 4, 2021. The race, shown in the Elite Label category by World Athletics, will be the only half-marathon in Europe to be run in the spring. Due to pandemic measures, 4 thousand athletes will take part in the event, which will be held in the enchanting atmosphere of the Historic Peninsula. The roads on the race track will be closed to vehicle traffic between 05.00-14.50.

Organizing international race organizations with high hygiene standards during the pandemic period, SPOR ISTANBUL will again be an exemplary event. Stating that they have planned the race program meticulously, SPOR İSTANBUL General Manager İ. Renay Onur said, “We have taken all measures regarding the health of athletes. "The safest place in Istanbul will be the racing area," he said.
STAR ATHLETES TO SHARE THEIR TRUNKS IN THE HISTORIC PENINSULA
At the N Kolay 16th Istanbul Half Marathon, where star athletes will take the stage, world half marathon record holder Kenyan athlete Kibiwott Kandie and his countryman Geoffrey Kamworor, whose record was taken away, will share his trump cards in Istanbul. Ethiopian Amdework Walelegn, who holds the record for the Istanbul Half Marathon, will also take his place on the track. Women's marathon world record holder Brigid Kosgei from Kenya, world record holder of half marathon women-only race Kenyan Peres Jepchirchir and Kenyan Ruth Chepngetich, holder of Istanbul Half Marathon and Istanbul Marathon records, will also run in the Historic Peninsula on April 4.
TRANSMITTED WILL BE PUBLISHED
At the N Kolay Istanbul Half Marathon, athletes will compete in the 21K, 10K and 21K skate categories. The race track, which will start from the bus stop in the Yenikapı Rally Area, also includes the Galata Bridge this year. In the race, which will start from Yenikapı, the athletes who follow the coastal road and come to the Galata Bridge will make a 'U' turn from the lights at the end of the bridge and proceed to Fatih. The track, which continues in the opposite direction with the 'U' turn to be made before arriving at the Golden Horn Bridge, will end at the point where it started in Yenikapı. N Kolay 16th Istanbul Half Marathon will be broadcast live from TRT Spor 2.
