Working with the principle of leaving a livable Manisa to future generations, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality has accelerated its works for the project of transporting household waste by train. Within the scope of the project, the Metropolitan Municipality signed a contract with the contractor for the garbage transfer stations to be built in Alaşehir and Yunusemre districts. Stating that the site will be delivered to the contractor company next Monday (April 12), Head of the Science Department, Uğur Topkaya said, “We continue our environmentalist investments with the instructions of our Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cengiz Ergün. We signed another contract for one of our environmentalist investments. We will construct garbage transfer stations in Muradiye neighborhood of Yunusemre district and Killik neighborhood in Alaşehir district to transport household waste by train. We will start the construction work by delivering the site to the contractor firm on Monday. Domestic wastes collected at the solid waste transfer stations in the districts will arrive by train to the garbage transfer station in Muradiye District. From there, it will be brought to Uzunburun Solid Waste Disposal Facility by road and be disposed of. "Thanks to the project, both fuel savings will be achieved and carbon emissions will be reduced by making less road transport."
