In this context, the number of squares where we provide free Wi-Fi service reached 24 with Keçiören, Sıhhiye, Çubuk and Zafer Bazaar ”and stated that they will provide free internet service in 35 squares in an area of 10 million square meters.
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which provides free Wi-Fi service in 918 neighborhoods for the benefit of students who receive distance education in order to ensure equal opportunity in education during the pandemic process, started to expand this service to city squares.
In the first stage, the number of squares with free internet access activated within the scope of the work planned to be made in 35 squares of the city increased to 24 together with Sıhhıye, Keçiören Municipality, Zafer Bazaar and Çubuk City Square. Stating that they have expanded the Wi-Fi internet network in the squares through social media accounts, Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş said, “We believe that the right to access the internet is a fundamental human right. In this context, the number of squares where we provide free Wi-Fi service reached 24 with Keçiören, Sıhhiye, Çubuk and Zafer Bazaar. Our goal is to bring internet to 35 million square meters in 10 squares ”.
COVERS 2,3 MILLION SQUARE METERS
Increasing internet access in the squares every day, the Metropolitan Municipality Information Technologies Department opened 2,3 squares covering an area of 24 million square meters to internet access.
While the squares activated through the address "wifi.ankara.bel.tr" were displayed one by one, the free 1st Stage Wi-Fi points (PHASE1), which were commissioned within the scope of the service that brings citizens together with fast, safe and free internet, were as follows:

INTERNET ACCESS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT 11 POINTS IN A SHORT TIME
Internet access will be provided at 11 points within the scope of free Wi-Fi application in the center and district squares in a short time.
In the second phase (PHASE2) of the works, which can be followed from the address "wifi.ankara.bel.tr", 2 more points where parks and recreation areas are located will be connected to the use of citizens by connecting Wi-Fi. Within the scope of the project, free internet will be available in 30 points in total in the square and recreation areas throughout the city until the end of the year.
