The second International Marathon organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will be run on April 11. Organized with the slogan "We are Running for a Sustainable World", 1.250 runners, including top-level athletes, will participate in the race.
The countdown has begun for the Maratonİzmir 11 organization on April 2021. MaratonIzmir is aimed to rise to the position of “Bronze Category Candidate” in the World Athletics (World Athletics Association). The registration of top-level racers and national athletes in the "Silver" and "Bronze" categories shows that the race will be much more contentious compared to last year. A total of 1.250 people will run in the giant organization that will be held with a limited number of runners due to the pandemic.
315 people on duty
Apart from 250 personnel of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, 65 volunteers will also work in Maraton İzmir. Other sponsors in the race, which is the main sponsor of Adidas, will be Pürsu, Skoda, Medicana, Züber, Carraro and Plugger.
Pandemic measures are taken
Great attention will be paid to pandemic measures in Maratonİzmir. Athletes will receive their chest number, bag and chips, wearing their masks, measuring their temperature and ensuring hand hygiene. Registrations will be made with disposable items. Athletes will be taken to the field on the day of the race from a single point and within the framework of health measures. Each athlete will be at least 1.5 meters from the other. The start of the race will be given every three seconds in groups of four. Medals will be presented in bags, not by hand.
The big start will be given at 08.00:XNUMX
The 11-kilometer-42-meter giant race to be run on April 195 will start at 08:00 from the entrance of Lausanne Square on Şair Eşref Boulevard. Runners will pass in front of Alsancak Train Station, go to Bostanlı Ferry Port via Altınyol and make the first turn. Then, Athletes will run in the direction of Altınyol, Alsancak, Konak, Mustafa Kemal Pasha Sahil Boulevard and make a second turn from İzmir Marina on Haydar Aliyev Boulevard. The run will continue towards the starting point. The athletes will have their names written in one of the most important organizations in Izmir's history, starting from the entrance of Lausanne Square and completing 42 kilometers.
The 10-kilometer race will start again at 07:20 from the entrance of Lausanne Square. The athletes will return from Köprü Tram Stop on Mustafa Kemal Beach Boulevard and reach the finish line located at the same place as the starting point.

Marathonİzmir, which was run with the theme of "Ormanİzmir" last year, will be run within the framework of the "17 Different Sustainability Principles" determined by the United Nations this year. Recycled material mug
Specially produced mugs from recycled materials in accordance with sustainability principles will be given to the top three athletes in the general classification at Maraton Izmir. In addition, the winners of the Women and Men General Classification will be awarded 10 thousand dollars each. The total prize to be distributed in the competition will be 400 thousand lira.
