Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Bekir Pakdemirli announced that they will make a support payment of 2020 million lira to our producers within the scope of aquaculture in 85 today.
Minister Pakdemirli stated that they continue to support the fisheries sector obtained through hunting and aquaculture every year with the new regulations they have made.
In this context, Pakdemirli said that they will transfer a total of 85 million TL of production support, especially for trout and Turkish salmon, to the accounts of our growers today.

Underlining that support has been provided to the sector since 2002, Pakdemirli;
“Thanks to the support we have provided, our production, which was 2002 thousand tons in 61, exceeded 2020 thousand tons in 420. Aquaculture production value increased from 212 million TL to approximately 13,5 billion TL.
Despite the pandemic, our aquaculture production increased by 13% last year compared to the previous year, ”he said.
Pakdemirli stated that the exports of aquaculture products, which were 2002 thousand tons in 27, reached 2020 thousand tons in 200, from 97 million dollars to 1 billion 64 million dollars in value. He said that they export to more countries.

Minister Pakdemirli explained that this 35-40 percent increase in domestic consumption was due to the promotional activities and campaigns they carried out with NGOs.

Explaining that Turkish Salmon was accepted and became a brand in the world with the project they initiated in 2018, Pakdemirli said that with the projects and supports they implemented, 2020 million dollars of salmon was exported in 60 and that this export will increase even more in the coming years.
