It is one of the bridges on the Golden Horn in Istanbul. It lies between Ayvansaray and Halıcıoğlu.

In 1971, the construction of the Bosphorus Bridge, the ring road and the third bridge to the Golden Horn was agreed upon. This bridge, which provides the passage of the ring roads of the Bosphorus Bridge to the Golden Horn, was built on legs. It was carried out in 34 months by the Japanese and Julius Berger-Bauboag AG, and entered service on September 10, 1974. In 1995, two additional bridges were built due to the high demand of the bridge. Highway 1, which is the ring road of the Bosphorus Bridge, passes over the Golden Horn Bridge.

It is 995 m long, 32 m wide, and 22 m above sea level. Many accidents due to icing occur during the winter months.
