The opening ceremony was attended by the Governor of İzmir, Yavuz Selim Köşger, and the Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. Tunç Soyer, Konak Mayor Abdul Batur, Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Murat Karacanta, TARKEM General Manager Sergenç Ineler, TARKEM Deputy Chairman of the Board Muzaffer Tunçağ, TARKEM Board Member Necip Kalkan, Kemeraltı Artisans Association President Semih Girgin, UNESCO İzmir Historical Site President Abdülaziz Ediz and CHP Konak District Chairman Çağrı Grushçu also attended. "We will try to get it on the permanent list"

İzmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger stated in his statement that it is a very important day for İzmir and said, “İzmir is a city that lives on very rich historical resources. History and current economic dynamism, which is one of Turkey's most prominent cities. As of its historical past, this is a port city. Port cities have different characteristics. Port cities are multicultural, have an open horizon, and look at the world. It has communication with all parts of the world. İzmir has all these characteristics. A city that has these characteristics in all stages of history. "It is a city with a multicultural, multi-layered, historical richness."

Stating that they will create the file in 2023 and work for this area to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage Permanent List, Governor Köşger said, “First of all, this is a living area. The region where the heart of commerce beats. We aim to rehabilitate this place while working and bring it to Izmir.
