Panama-flagged cargo ship "Kemet Star" ran aground off Bozcaada.

The ship, 149 meters long and 848 gross tons, carrying silica sand from Egypt to Derince Port, went off course for an unknown reason and came to the shallow area.

The captain of the seated ship reported the situation to the Vessel Traffic Services Directorate and requested assistance. Upon this, the "Rescue-3" tug and a "KEGM-9" fast rescue boat were sent to the region.

After the underwater controls of the ship, it was learned that the work will be started to float.
