Nearly 7 flats in 60 buildings were evacuated due to the landslide in Osmangazi district of Bursa. After the heavy downpours and snowfall that had been effective for a few days in the city, a landslide occurred in Osmangazi district Kavaklı Mahallesi Kazım Baykal Street.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş made examinations in the area where the historical fortress walls were landslides in the evening.

While there were no injuries or deaths in the landslide in an area of ​​approximately 5 square meters, the citizens in the damaged building were evacuated by the Metropolitan Municipality fire brigade and AFAD teams who came to the scene. While the security line was created by the police teams in the region, the teams affiliated to the Metropolitan Municipality started to work in the area where the slip occurred.

Bursa Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş, who came to the region where the landslide took place, made observations with the accompanying AK Party Provincial Chairman Davut Gürkan and Osmangazi Mayor Mustafa Dündar. Mayor Alinur Aktaş, who also observed the area where the slippage took place with the drone flown in the region, received information about the works and the status of the buildings from Yalçın Mumcu, AFAD Bursa Provincial Director. President Alinur Aktaş informed the citizens and conveyed their get well soon wishes. Speaking to the press members later, Mayor Aktaş said, “There was a landslide at around 16.30 in the gardens below the buildings in Kavaklı District, which is right next to Üftade Mosque and its outbuilding. We can say that the rains that have been effective for the last week have been effective. We know that the buildings here are also 45 years old. The teams of the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization, AFAD Provincial Directorate, Osmangazi Municipality and Metropolitan Municipality are at the scene. There is no abnormal problem with the buildings. All ground studies and drilling will be done. About 7 buildings and around 50-60 flats were evacuated. In parallel with the determinations here, a study will be carried out on the citizens' accommodation for a few days ”.

Serious damage occurred in some apartments of the buildings facing Kazım Baykal Street downstairs. In the first examination of the teams, there was no problem with the buildings. Details will be revealed after drilling and ground survey. It will be shared with the building owners and the public. Hopefully, we will act in unison to overcome the process without any damage and trouble. The buildings are built on solid ground, but there is also the fatigue brought by years. With heavy rain and snowfalls, there was a loosening of the ground and a landslide with the load on the garden parts. Our hope is to get through the process without any trouble.
